Please Consider Before Booking

  • Our Hotel is built on a slope and we do not operate a lift due to the construction style. You would need to climb stairs to reach your rooms and dining space. The hotel has independent cottages and rooms along with lots of greenery around the accommodation.
  • To conserve water and save electricity, we have installed independent 50 litre geysers in each room. Generally the heating time of water to reach 80 degree Celsius is around 20 minutes however in winters due to the extreme cold water inlet, this time increases to about 30 to 35 minutes. In winters guests will have to wait for about 25 to 30 minutes before bathing after the first guest has used the hot water.
  • There will be harmless insects and flies in and around the property especially during the monsoon season due to the flora. We have built the hotel in a natural environment and all these insects etc are a part of the eco system here. Please do not be scared and enjoy the creations of nature
  • In a very unlikely event of a power cut at night between 11 pm to 6 am, we do not run the generator due to the noise generated in the area. Since we are located in a very calm and quiet location, the noise disturbs the surrounding village and we take pride in keeping a noise free surrounding. Keeping this is mind we do not allow loud music to be played in the rooms or any private space in the hotel.
  • Please note that all our guests travelling with drivers are requested to make the drivers arrangements themselves and the hotel will assist you in booking the rooms in the vicinity. No person from outside will be allowed to enter the hotel premises purely due to safety reasons.

The Legacy

Udechee meaning “Uttar Disha or the North Direction” was conceptualized by Abhai Singh Mankotia and his wife Swarnima Singh back in 1990 keeping in mind the architecture of the hills. Abhai Singh originally belonging to Kangra with his ancestral village in the Kangra valley was a frequent trekker to the Dhauladhar range and often visited the small Gaddi village of Naddi because of its uninterrupted view of the Dhauladhar range.

The duo in 1990 decided to work towards promoting tourism and started 5 huts in Naddi and called it “Udechee Huts”. It was the first hotel to come up in this village overlooking the mighty Dhauladhar range. Since then this family run hotel in which guests are treated like their own family guests has expanded to have a total of 14 well-appointed huts and rooms, a dining room, a lounge for relaxation and a playing area for families with children.
To take this family run hotel forward and continue the legacy of hospitality, they are followed by their son Yaduraaj Singh Mankotia.
